Be careful when booking in person (especially in Thailand) because the person behind the counter will inevitably get it wrong and you may have to pay for their mistake. Make sure you see the ticket information before you pay your money. YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND OR BE ABLE TO CHANGE ANYTHING BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT ABLE TO CHANGE ANYTHING.

@Adilah that blog is outdated and I just flew them recently, it was good but of course they have their ups and downs but it was good

@Mohamad you can do so through Manage My Booking online or you can contact their call centre

@Wei use IE and just book according their travelling period and destination at the home page, u should be fine

@Lily you have the option to skip them if you do wish to allocate seat and I think it is best not to check-in now if your flights are months away as I believe you cannot change the flight date once you check-in

Any of the above mentioned might not be accurate, best to contact their call centre or send them an email to get better assistance

I am really confused about the check in and seat allocation process. I didn't want to pay extra to pick a seat but it seemed to let me check in even though my flights are months away, but when I tried to check in it made me choose a seat. I thought check in online was free but every time I tried to check in, it forced me to choose a seat, and when youhover the mouse over an available seat it says it's an extra $15. What is going on?? Why do I have to pay $15 to pick a seat to check in, I just wanted to check in for free!! Can you help please?

hi, i have tried to book the air asia ‘help them to smile again’ bangkok promotional ticket. However, whenever i clicked on the ‘book now’ button, it will direct me to the page showing ‘Online booking can only be done 4 hrs before flight’

I have tried using both google chrome, and mozilla.

Any idea how to solve this problem? Would really appreciate your help! ;)

@Mr. K. Wright You can change it on the AirAsia site. They also have a Live Chat support, if you are not sure how to do it. Note that I am not affiliated with AirAsia.

@Graham

Yeah they do this on occasion. In reality, this only ever happens on high frequency short-haul fights, such as Singapore - KL or KL - Bangkok. You will usually only have to wait another couple of hours. Air Asia do send you an SMS to let you know as well.

@Craig Unfortunately, that is how airlines work. It's nothing unique to Air Asia. While it is rare for prices to decrease, it does happen.

I've been deeply disappointed at Air Asia pricing on the first encounter. At about 3 months before departure, we purchased multiple segments of flights for 4-5 people in each segment. About 2.5 months before depature, the fares were discounted by over 65%. Revenue management is not a new business model, but the vast difference in price within a short span of time seems extremely disrespectful and unfair to the customer. To provide a perspective, the following are the fares I paid, which is also the lowest available at time of purchase, and the published fares few weeks later: KUL-ICN was RM624, now RM234; ICN-KUL was RM718, now RM318; KUL-DPS was RM254, now RM164. Imagine the pain of purchasing 4-5 tickets in each segment. I believe in fair business - I don't condemn revenue management, but I don't agree with irrational, reckless and unjust pricing. It is understandable if prices are increasing as depature draws near, but an early planner who commits to a plan should not be punished. The consumer should not bear an outright irresponsible pricing system.

Thanks for the great information...

I've heard stories that air Asia will cancel flights at thelast minute if the flights are not full... (travel agent story) is this more a way for the travel agent to sell a higher priced ticket, ar is there a reason to be worried?
Thanks heaps in advance
