I found some of your information to be helpful. After flying once, it's pretty easy to know that for most flights the 2-3 hour early arrival is excessive. (I never did arrive that early in the first place.) However, I found your comment about getting to the airport at pretty much the last minute and telling people the airline will bump them to the front of the line extremely RUDE! Now we know where some of those people that can't think ahead to the fact that they may not be the only ones getting on a plane around that time get their ideas from. That's WHY the airlines recommend earlier arrival times - so that you have time to wait in line like all the other polite people who are waiting their turn. By arriving late, you are bumping others further back in the line out of their rightful spot when they were considerate enough to come early enough in case there was a line up. Apparently you think your time and those that read this' time is more valuable than the rest of us. I don't think so. I hope not too many people take your advice about arriving just barely before boarding...
